What length do you need?

Road signs should normally be erected with a minimum ground clearance of 2100mm.
Normally a minimum of 600mm needs to be buried in the ground for safety.
Add together the clearance, foundation and sign height for the minimum post requirement.
For example, a 600mm diameter speed sign would need a post of length 3.3metres.
Signs on private land and away from walkways can be erected at lower clearances.
